Every fall people in the front range make a big deal about driving up to the mountains to see the fall colors. I was really skeptical of all this hype, because there aren't any maples, so Colorado doesn't get the same bright reds and oranges as northern MN in fall. But we went for a cruise on a gorgeous fall day a few weeks ago and I was pretty surprised at how pretty the yellow aspens were surrounded by dark pines. The mountains and perfect blue sky don't hurt the view either.
