The new house

Ok, since Ewert ridiculed me in his comment on the last post by saying I can't keep up with our friends who also just bought a house, I finally have some pictures of the new house to post. For those of you whom we just saw at the baby shower, these are the same pictures, but with my comments instead of Joe's, so maybe you'll learn something new.

While this house needs a lot less work than our old house did when we first moved in, there are definitely some things we'll need to upgrade. The kitchen needs some updating (if it were up to just me, we'd already have selected the new stuff and started demolition on the old, but Joe seems to think we have other priorities in the next two months) and the master bathroom tiles are a lovely shade of pink that no amount of painting and decorating can make look good. Primarily, though, the house is in great shape, and it's mostly our own furniture that makes the place look kinda funny right now. The futon and other hand-me-down furniture we had in the basement man cave, wood-paneled TV room in our last house suddenly look very "collegiate" in a bright sunny room with a two-story ceiling...
