Bursting buttons, Batman! Two posts in two days!!
At my tennis lesson on Monday, my pro told me I looked like I'd lost a lot of weight. I would have blown it off and said he was just trying to make me feel better about a certain embarrassing incident while serving, but the comment actually came before said incident. Anyway, I told him I don't really weigh myself regularly, so I didn't know if I'd lost weight, but of course I was pretty pleased with the comment.
So today at the gym after lifting weights, I sauntered up to the scale and thought, "Why not?" I've been feeling pretty good lately, and my jeans have been requiring belts, so maybe I had lost weight. So I stepped on the scale...and then remembered why I don't do scales. I've gained 2.4 pounds. Suddenly I'm wondering if my jeans require a belt because I haven't done laundry in awhile and they always get stretched out... (I don't wear them that often, people. I'm not a walking pig pen, I swear.)
Tonight at my tennis drill I'm going to tell the pro that my happy little bubble of fitness (which he helped create) has now burst, and that thanks to him I didn't eat my giant piece of chocolate cake after the gym this morning. Ok, maybe there's a silver lining here. Except what's the point of going to the gym if you can't eat cake?
Hey Jenny, muscles outweigh fat! ;-)
ReplyDelete(if this is not good english, I'm sorry, but Katrin isn't around right now. Anyway i think you understood, what i wanted to say :-))
The English is perfectly good, Andy! I know muscles weigh more, but it's still not fair. I'll make your English look even better: zu viel Gewicht macht nicht spaß.
