After working many weekends on house stuff, we finally just left it all for a day and took a trip into the mountains for a day hike. We decided to take the scenic way home, which included a drive over the top of some of the highest peaks in Rocky Mountian National Park, with a max height of over 12000 feet. Though it had been about 100 degrees in Denver for several days, it was obviously a lot cooler at that elevation--with an overnight low in the high 30s! Joe and I agreed that would be preferable to the overnight lows of 85 that we'd been having.
