Kauai

Last week was our week vacation in Kauai. We rented a big house in Poipu with three other couples from Denver and spent the week hiking, sitting on the beach, and eating. We had some rainy weather and overcast skies for at least part of the day most of the week, but the last day was cloudless and sunny, and we were able to enjoy the beautiful white sand and turquoise waters that you always see in photographs. I even tried snorkeling again, and though I won't say I was really any less scared than I was in Australia, or that it's become one of my new favorite pasttimes, at least I saw some fish and didn't hyperventilate. I call that success.
